First Gen Networking Mixer

Yesterday I attended the First Gen Networking Mixer, sponsored by OPAL and led by Karlos Santos-Coy. I expected there to be more students, but it seemed pretty equal in numbers of staff and students.

The First Generation Network is for Dartmouth’s 470 students who are among the first in their family to attend a 4-year college, and is comprised of nearly 50 First Gen staff, faculty, and administrators who are dedicated to supporting First Gen students’ academic and social success.

The panel was interesting and a lot of what was said mirrored my own experience. I am Asian American and grew up in the heart of New York City. I won’t elaborate on it here, but I welcome conversations so please do get in touch!
